Dyslexia Norway - Dysleksiforbundet i Norge


Dyslexia Norway is the national organization for people with dyslexia and other special needs according to reading, writing and maths.
There are 6000 members and 40 local organizations.

Dyslexia Norway is an NGO. They work with politicians, with schools and other educating institutions in the public sector and in the private sector.
Every year they organize conferences. Some for teachers, others for people with special needs and their families. Volunteers of Dyslexia Norway are travelling all over Norway giving lectures on Dyslexia and how people with Dyslexia can be met in a better way in preschool, school, at university and at work.

Visit to Skagerak International School.
Winner of the Norwegian "Dyslexia Friendly School Award 2011"

Morning session: Guided tour. The Skagerak International School uses the Multiple Intelligence Model of Howard Gardner to support a variety of learning oppertunities. This approach diminishes the barriers in learning for children with the so called specific learning problems like dyslexia.

Afternoon session:
Peer learning of Parents: Presentation and discussion on how parents support each other with information and advice on the usage of ICT tools for dyslectics.

Morning at bredtvet, a centre of expertise with the mandate to support and advice schools all over Norway in their assessment and training of pupils with reading and writing disabilities.

Exchange of experiences and good practises within the project.
